Behavioral Support Partnership (BSP) is a well-established and highly respected organization providing Applied Behavior Analysis services throughout Orange County and Los Angeles. We partner with families to improve the lives of children with autism and other developmental disabilities. Each child and family comes to BSP with a unique set of values, behaviors, and experiences and we create individualized treatments based on their needs, cultural values, and family strengths.
BSP was founded in 2005 by Dr. Melissa Sweitzer, a licensed Psychologist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Dr. Sweitzer began her career in Florida providing parent training services to children and families. Making a difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities has been Dr. Sweitzer’s guiding force throughout her 30 year career. Her extensive background in mental health and Applied Behavior Analysis, provides a unique perspective to the staff and clients of Behavioral Support Partnership.
Dr. Sweitzer leads a team of experienced, compassionate, and highly ethical professionals in early intervention, autism, adolescent and adult services and behavior analysis. Our services and supports are based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), the scientific study of behavior. Applied Behavior Analysis is the “process of systematically applying interventions based upon the principles of learning theory to improve socially significant behaviors…” (Baer, D.M., Wolf, M.M, & Risely. T, 1968).
Using naturalistic developmental behavioral interventions (NDBI), we focus on teaching the most critical skills in a child’s development: language, play, social emotional and self-help. Our treatment results are enhanced by close partnerships with parents and guardians. For our older individuals, we focus on teaching critical, life skills that will ensure the person’s success in work, leisure and social life.
A Case Supervisor will lead your treatment team which parents are active participants in. Frequent collaboration between team members and in field supervision by the Case Supervisor will ensure your child’s progress is on track.
